What Am I Doing Now?

Keynote & Kayaking in Barcelona

I could not have imagined a more enjoyable and engaging week than the one we just experienced at LSI Europe '26. The energy, imagination, and passion of founders, investors, and CEOs in the medtech industry is truly beautiful and making an impact. The hurdles and challenges to which they agree to in bringing their ideas to life are huge... but the benefit to people is beyond words.

While I am not a medtech expert, my part in this event included our keynote, The Science Of High Performance, in which I delivered with past USA Canoe/Kayak teammate, and PDV MedTech President, Bryant Grigsby. The discussion wonderfully received - people were coming up to me with questions and context 12 hours after delivering the presentation.

What elevated this program to the next level was activating the core principles of our program to life via our sea kayak experience in Barcelona with PDV Medtech clients and guests.

In the world we are living in today, it's worth considering how to take great ideas spoken from the stage and activate them in engaging, real-time experience --> There is no shortage of good information... only continuous currents of more information that drown out our good ideas before they have a chance to be activated. This was a key motivation in launching my adventure coaching retreats here in Catalaunya. To see these experiences coming to life is one of the wonderful highlights of my year so far.

Tilting The River

As any world class whitewater canoe slalom athlete can tell you, it takes a little work to get to our beautiful city, La Seu d'Urgell. But they will also say that once you arrive, it is a magical place. Which is why I could not be more thrilled to share La Seu d'Urgell and Catalunya's beautiful nature, culture, and spirit with clients arriving in October for my adventure coaching retreat, Tilting The River.

Collaborations

Three collaborations in which I'm investing more time, energy, and resources are:

1. Elevating Leadership Institute (ELI): As co-founder of ELI, we are transitions partners for executive teams ready to scale. Our coaching and facilitation is anchored in the principles and our personal experiences and success in high performance sport. While most leaders focus on wanting their teams to “play better together,”  ELI dives much deeper into the team architecture using proprietary models, systems and curriculums tested and proven on the world’s biggest stages - in sport and business. More about ELI coming to this space soon but if you are a part of or leading a forward-thinking team that is ready to develop and grow its people, our program is a game-changer in this space.
2. Rios Lodge: This remote riverside retreat on Costa Rica's Pacuare River makes me smile every day... because of the smiles and reviews I see from our guests. I joined the ownership group of Rios Lodge a few years ago and since then, I've watched our leadership make improvements that are as good for the land as they are for our guests. The majority of our clients are retreat leaders who want to immerse their groups in Costa Rica's lush rain forest and enjoy a space that fosters disconnection and transformation. I look forward to hosting my own retreats here soon!
3. Tripmix: This innovative team is building an incredible platform for adventure retreats hosts like me to share real-world hosted tours and adventures via a simple and intuitive online shop.
